AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming Announced For December 11

Fish has primarily focused on wrestling since, but he's still passionate about the world of boxing. While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Fish recalled his first fight and noted that the promotion flew out his agent, coach, and wife to Dubai.

"Yeah, so kickboxing, I was 4-1 as an amateur kickboxer. I’ve been doing martial arts since I was eight years old. Striking predominately, but I have the four fights in amateur kickboxing and then this boxing fight kind of just fell on my radar. It was gonna be in Dubai where I, not only had never been, but had never thought about going to. They were gracious enough to fly my agent, my coach and my wife and I. It was beautiful. Yeah, it was really something special. I got to fight on a Floyd Mayweather undercard. I just felt like this is something on my death bed, there’s no way I’m gonna regret doing this—win, lose or draw. My wife and I got to see Dubai. Can’t lose."

Fish went on to reveal that he recently got his DDP Yoga certification.

"I 100% have. I just recently got my DDP Yoga certification as well. So now I’m able to coach that. Dallas, man, we would need a whole other interview for me to go into how I feel about Dallas and DDP Yoga. That’s him. That’s the man in a nutshell. So that boxing fight that you’re talking about, he was my first sponsor. Same story. It’s not surprising. I called him. I don’t think we were on the phone six minutes and I think the check got to my house while we were still on the phone."

When Fightful talked about the potential of an MMA card with all wrestlers, Fish said that an event like that would be huge.

"It’d be huge, it’d be huge. I don’t know if it’s just the curiosity of, ‘Well, who can really go and who can’t?’ I don’t know. I know growing up Haku was of legendary status of being a man who, if it had to go down, he’s who one you wanted in your foxhole. Nowadays, there’s so much exposure, overexposure when social media and everything and a lot of the dirt gets out there and, let’s be honest, some people who are not the greatest people in the world. Their locker room antics or whatever, they make the dirt sheets. At the end of the day, and I feel like with Haku especially, at the end of the day, he was a man. You lay your shoulders down because it’s pro wrestling. We’re doing what we do. This is our job. But some people—not even some people, all of us— we’re still somebody’s husband, we’re still somebody’s father, we’re still men and I will not be called out or spoken to in a less than respectful way. Doesn’t matter who it is."

Elsewhere in the interview, Fish said that he's excited to work with the MLW roster. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
