Thekla: STARDOM And New Japan Are Fantastic Companies With Badass Wrestlers, Why Not Put It Together

Thekla discusses Historic X-Over.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling and World Wonder Ring Stardom recently announced the full lineup for NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over II, with Thekla featuring on the show in a tag team bout where she will pair up with Clark Connors. The event is centred around crossover between STARDOM and New Japan Pro Wrestling, with mixed tag bouts across the show.

While speaking to Grapsody's Righteous Reg and Phil Lindsey in a recent interview about the event, Thekla discussed the crossover element of the shows.

"Yes, definitely not in Japan. I think and Japanese are still very skeptical about it. They don't really like the idea and I totally understand. I think it's really a chance to create something new and also be respectful of what everybody likes and doesn't like. Make it good, make it interesting. As I said, I like new things, I like challenges, and those kind of events are always a chance to bring something new to the table. I think people really like it too, because both STARDOM and New Japan are fantastic companies with badass wrestlers, very talented people throughout, so why not put it all together? I think it's great. I think everybody wants to see me beat the crap out of Taichi, right? Everybody wants to see Clark Connors again, spear the hell out of Natsupoi. So why not give the people that? I think it's great."

Thekla continued, discussing the possible rules for the upcoming mixed tag team match at the event.

"Yes, I think they are. I'm not sure if they have not reversed the rules again. So I think they're going to try to do it orthodox again. But you have been following what me and Clark do. So you can be sure that we're going to find a way to get exactly what we want. So whatever the rules are, you'll see good stuff happening."
