The Immortal One stands tall.
CMLL on Friday, April 25, 2025, hosted a special show to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the mythical Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. As part of the celebration, the three semifinals in the 2025 CMLL Universal Title Tourney headlined the show.
In the semifinals, Titán managed to defeat Stigma and Mephisto to advance to the finals, while Esfinge managed to put away Niebla Roja & Akuma, and Ángel de Oro managed to outlast Euforia & Flip Gordon. The finals were disputed between Titán, Esfinge, and Ángel de Oro in the main event of the show.
In a dynamic match between the three finalists, Ángel de Oro got the first elimination of the match by locking in La Campana on Esfinge to eliminate him from the match. After an intense back-and-forth, Titán ended up giving Ángel de Oro a taste of his own medicine by locking in La Campana to tap him out and pick up the win.
This is the first time Titán had won the Universal Title Tournament in his career, losing the finals on the two previous occasions in 2022 and 2024. Not the only accolade he has, as he has held the CMLL World Welterweight Title for over 1966 days and counting.
