Bryan Danielson: I Have No Contract Right Now, Maybe One Of My 4000 Unread Texts Was Someone Reaching Out

Bryan Danielson confirms that he is not currently under contract with AEW, claims that no one has reached out to him about opportunities outside of AEW, and gives an excellent reason why that may be the case.

Bryan Danielson's AEW talent contract expired in August 2024, and although he is scheduled to headline AEW All In in a match for the AEW World Title, he currently works without a contract.

Speaking with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp ahead of AEW All In 2024, Danielson confirmed that his contract had expired, simply saying, "I have no contract right now. I’m not under contract."

Furthermore, "The American Dragon" revealed that, to his knowledge, no one has reached out with an offer to do any work outside of AEW. However, Danielson also doesn't check his phone very often, and, at the time of the interview, he had nearly 4000 unread text messages, so maybe he doesn't know if anybody's reached out.

"Not a single person. People who really know me, know that I don’t look at my phone very much. Even for this interview, the AEW representative and my manager were reaching out to me and [my manager] ended up calling my wife, and then my wife called me to remind me that I had media this morning," he said. "It’s a blessing and a curse. It allows me to be more in the moment as my with my wife and kids and doing all these different things, but when people want to really get ahold of me, then I’m not available.

"That said, right now, I have 3998 unread text messages," he continued. "I’m almost at 4000. There is also a lot of missed calls. There could have been somebody in there, but that would require me to go through and look at all my missed text messages."

Usually, when Tony Khan calls, Danielson will answer. However, there are times when Danielson's not available, even for his boss. Read his comments on a time when he did not pick up the phone for Tony and his thoughts on continuing to help AEW after he retires here.
