Danger was originally set to make his in-ring debut against Adam Cole in November 2023, but injury prevented that from happening. Danger went on to still make his debut, instead facing one of his trainers, Shawn Spears.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Danger recalled dealing with the whole situation, which was heartbreaking for him.

"Oh, God, yeah. Obviously, Cole being my friend, personally I want him to be healthy and ready to go whenever. I want him to be able to work at his full potential. But, obviously, at that time I was heart broken. I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, we built this up. This is the biggest thing I could possibly do as my first match.’ Like I said, we built it up so big and I was crushed, I was heart broken. But luckily, having been trained by Shawn Spears and him just being the upstanding, awesome dude that he is, he stepped in and he’s like, ‘Let’s do this.’ I was like, ‘Alright.’ ‘Cause those are big shoes to fill, too. I think even he was like, ‘Those are some big shoes. Are you sure?’ I was like, ‘Yes. That’s the perfect thing.’"

Danger went on to note that the night was one of the greatest of his life, despite not getting to face Cole.

"This, of course, happened at DPW—Deadlock Pro Wrestling—just in case you weren’t familiar. But it ended up being one of the greatest nights of my life, regardless of the outcome and the scar. So I’m just fortunate it was able to happen and I’m looking forward to seeing where we go from here. The people that trained you, their names are on you. Just as much as that was my reputation getting into the ring, it was also his. It’s Breeze. It’s everybody else that’s helped me along the way. So I know that added an extra layer of pressure ‘cause I was like, ‘Oh, man. If something goes wrong, he’s gonna ream me more than anybody else.’ At the same time, I felt a little sense of comfort knowing that we’re going to be okay. No matter what, we’re going to be okay because he put that stamp on me. He believed in the progress that I made throughout that first year. Just having that opportunity to be in there with him was life changing. It was incredible."

Elsewhere in the interview, Danger talked about taking a table spot in the match with Spears. Fans can learn more here.
