Emily Jaye reflects on her ROH debut.
Back in January, Emily Jaye made her debut for the promotion, teaming with Brittany Jade in a tag match against Leyla Hirsch and Rachael Ellering. Notably, Jaye was announced as Emily Hale for this match, her real name.
While speaking with Fightful during WrestleCade weekend, Jaye recalled zoning out and not realizing that her real name was being used until she was in the ring.
"You see my thing was I didn't even know they announced me as that name until I went out there. ‘Cause I was completely zoned out. ‘Cause when I saw my name on the board it also had my friend’s name on the board. So I was like, ‘Oh, they just put our names on there. That's not what they’re going to announce us as.’"
Jaye then praised Maria Kanellis, saying that she told her about her name being on the board for a match at the ROH tapings.
"But pretty much, how I got to have the match, it was from Maria Kanellis. Shout out Maria. Love you. She literally came up to me, ‘cause we were just waiting for the board to get posted, she came up to me and she's like, ‘Did you get a look at the board yet?’ I was like, ‘Why are you telling me this? Do you already look?’ She said, ‘Yep, let's go look,’ and then we looked and she was like, ‘That's your name.’ I was like, ‘Oh, I'm gonna cry.’"
