wXw 16 Carat Gold Weekend Notes

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned the following notes from wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament weekend.

Gabe Kidd vs. Calvin Tankman, El Phantasmo vs. Mance Warner, More Set For DEFY Streets of Rage

- Stephanie Maze suffered an injury on Friday that caused her to be absent from Saturday’s Superfight with Masha Slamovich. Bobby Gunns is also banged up, and was pulled from the final day as a precaution. Both are expected back in the ring soon.

- WWE scout Jim Smallman, René Casselly and Ulf Herman were in attendance for the weekend, as well as several promoters from across Europe.

- 16 Carat Gold 2025 is the highest gate in German independent wrestling history. Pre-sales for next year's event have already surpassed 2025’s pre-sales.

- The promotion launched their own sticker book as part of 16 Carat Gold Weekend, and we are told they were almost completely sold out.

- Despite strikes at German airports, we are told that this caused minimal travel delays, and talent from outside Germany were not stranded following the weekend’s events.

- Adam Priest has remained in Germany, and has been coaching at the wXw academy.

- Former NXT UK star Metehan returned over the weekend, and was received well by those we spoke to. It was his first appearance in wXw in almost 2 years.

- 16 Carat Gold weekend is now wXw’s most watched event on TrillerTV.

WWE Scouting, Mike Rome, Brit Wres Notes Notes

- WWE’s Jim Smallman was present at Evolution Wrestling on February 22nd and PROGRESS My Own Destiny on February 23rd. We are told his visit to PROGRESS was a positive one.

- We are told Mike D Vecchio’s withdrawal from the NCL Cup is ‘nothing serious.’

- Several talents we spoke to in French Wrestling hope that Amale’s recent appearance for Khao leads to other promotions in France welcoming her back in the near future. So far, we have not heard of this being the case.

- We have heard of several UK names being offered short excursions by Pro Wrestling NOAH. The promotion recently held a tryout in the UK.

- When we asked PROGRESS sources about concerns about booking Oku vs Jacobs following their saga in RevPro, we were told ‘they're 2 of the best wrestlers in the UK - why wouldn't we put them in the spots they deserve when we're showing Vegas our very best?’

- In addition to recent talent cuts, we are told that WWE have also made multiple cuts within production departments in the company.

- North Wrestling were recently amongst Triller TV’s weekly top 10 viewed events.
