EXCLUSIVE: DDP Talks Squashing Beef With Ric Flair

Diamond Dallas Page says he squashed the beef with Ric Flair after one conversation.

On Fightful Wrestling's podcast The List and Ya Boy, Diamond Dallas Page talked about how he ended the animosity between Ric Flair and himself. The two wrestled in the same companies over their careers and along the way they had built up "heat."

"Ric Flair and I have had heat on and off during our career. At some point I didn't want that. I didn't want to feel that way about (Flair) and I didn't want him feeling that way about me," said Page.

Page said years ago, he took the opportunity to talk with Flair about their relationship. This was something Page said he wanted to do because he "loves" Flair.

"I talked to him at an autograph signing about eight years ago. I went up to him and said 'Naitch, you got a sec'. He's like 'sure'. I pulled him off to the side and said 'Listen Naitch, I know over our career we've had some heat with each other.' He's like 'Diamond, don't worry about that.' I said 'I'm not worried about it, I'd like to fix it,'" said Page.

According to Page, he ceremonially reintroduced himself to Flair in order to move on from their past. He credited Flair with helping his career when Page won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from Flair in 1999. Page also mentioned Flair in his Hall of Fame speech for the very same reason.

Page went on to tell a story about when he was leaving Orlando, Florida after the 2017 Hall of Fame ceremony and Ric Flair offered him a ride on a private jet. After they landed, Flair took Page out to dinner for Page's birthday.
