EXCLUSIVE: Mandy Leon Recalls WWE Tryout

Mandy Leon has become a fixture for Ring Of Honor, both in the ring as part of the promotion's Women Of Honor division, and as an on-camera host.

When she was still getting her feet wet in professional wrestling, however, she had a tryout for WWE in Orlando. During her recent exclusive interview with Fightful.com managing editor Sean Ross Sapp, she gave her recollections of that experience.

Leon recalled the tryout was "two or three years ago now.

"It went great," she said. "I have to say, it's not an easy thing being at that tryout in Orlando, it's really not. People assume you just do a few rolls and they love you, but it's very intense. It's def one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life but also one of the greatest things I've ever done in my life, because I got through it without quitting, without doing anything. The girls and the guys were doing everything the same. There were no differences. … there were grown military men that didn't even show up the second day. It's intense."

Leon said she would have relished the chance to go through the tryout experience again, knowing what she does now.

"That's kind of like a second family to me. I made so many friends there," she added regarding her tryout experience at the Performance Center. "But, you know, it's at that time I look back now and I was the total package but at the same time I wish I was where I;m at now, then. If I could show them who I am now, it'd be completely different. But it was a great learning experience."
