EXCLUSIVE: Shane Helms Says He Had To Get Tag Titles Back From Hardys

On the Fightful podcast with managing editor Sean Ross Sapp, Shane Helms shared some insight to the latest situations between Impact Wrestling and The Broken Hardys.

Helms said things have calmed down a bit since both Matt and Jeff Hardy did not sign contract extensions with Impact Wrestling.

“The situation seems to have calm down. It is what it is,” Helms said. “Me, Matt, Jeff and even Shannon [Moore], we always have been connected. If one of us fuck up, we’re all guilty of it somehow. If one of us does something good, by that same token, we all get a little credit. It is what it is.”

The awkward part in this situation is the fact that the Hardys were the TNA Tag Team Champions at the time of their departure. The titles were vacated, but Helms said he was sent by Impact Wrestling to recover the physical tag titles from the Hardys.

“I had to go get the fucking tag team belts,” Helms said. “I was asked to go get them and I was like ‘what?’ They’re not going to keep them. It wasn’t awkward because Matt and Jeff were never going to keep them. You can say what you want about us, but we’re not thieves. We needed those belts and I was the closest one to them that’s on the TNA payroll. I’m sure the office knew that if anybody could get them is me. I was supposed to ship them, but I didn’t. I just put them in my suitcase and bring it to TV [tapings].”
