Hyan has become one of the top female wrestlers on the independent scene, and has already competed on ROH TV, AEW, WWE, IMPACT, and more.
While she has traveled to Japan in the past to compete for Sendai Girls and WAVE, Hyan would like to step foot in a New Japan Pro-Wrestling ring.
"Right now, I would say getting to New Japan," Hyan told Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds when asked about her career goals. "That's a promotion that I sink my teeth into when I'm watching it. I love that style of wrestling. For the longest time, I didn't think it was a possibility just because they weren't using women. If you wanted to do anything equivalent to that, it would be wrestling for a Joshi promotion. Now, they are utilizing women and utilizing the top and very best women in the world. I want to be part of that. It's a huge bucket list item for me."
When asked about her goals in New Japan, she said, "I want to be the IWGP Women's Champion. That's the ultimate goal."
Mayu Iwatani is the reigning IWGP Women's Champion. NJPW is set to crown the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women's Champion at NJPW Resurgence on May 21.
Asked who she would like to wrestle in NJPW, Hyan said, "Mercedes Mone. That's who everyone is lining up to wrestle against. She's my ultimate opponent right now. I would love to get in the ring with KAIRI. I've trained with Athena before and she told me how talented KAIRI is in the ring. I would love to get in the ring with her as well."
Mercedes is set to compete in the NJPW STRONG Women's Title Tournament. KAIRI recently noted that she would like to travel, but has found getting US bookings difficult. You can find her comments by clicking here.
Hyan will compete in the Queen of the Indies tournament for West Coast Pro on May 13. She faces Masha Slamovich in the first round. The event will air on IWTV.
