AEW Double Or Nothing saw a shocking title challenge.
Kris Statlander is back, and we have many details around the situation after she won the AEW TBS Championship
Statlander has been planned as the person to take the TBS Title from Jade Cargill for quite some time – dating back at least several weeks, we’ve learned, and there’s more than meets the eye.
Fightful has learned that Jade Cargill is slated to take some time off soon, if not immediately, before returning to the ring with a personality shift down the road.
Statlander has been on the road with AEW often during her recovery and was actually working out in the ring ahead of a recent AEW Dynamite.
Fightful Select had noted recently that there looked to be a “major shift” in the AEW Women’s division and American Women’s Wrestling in general. Between the title changes at Double or Nothing, the return of Statlander, and the injury to Jamie Hayter, it looks to be shaping up. This, in addition to the Asuka-Bianca Belair title change, and Zoey Stark’s big push.
We're told more AEW names are headed back soon.
