Kody Lane recalls wrestling Ricky Starks.
After nearly six months away from the ring, Ricky Starks made his return at a Glory Pro event in November. At the show, Starks faced Kody Lane in a singles bout that unfortunately ended in a no contest.
While speaking to Fightful Overbooked for a new interview, Lane was asked to talk about the match with Starks at Glory Pro.
"Me and Ricky have known each other like nine years. We come from the same training school in Austin, Texas. I’ve known him since 2015. It’s been pretty cool to watch where he’s come to rise to where he’s at. On how the conversation started on getting to wrestle him, it’s crazy how it built up to that. It was fun since we know each other. He was kind of going through a hard time. To get to be his first wrestling match back, it was a pretty cool moment for both of us."
Lane then revealed some of the conversations that he had with Lane after the bout.
"He said he was glad to do it and that made me feel good because I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure the match was going to be good since he hadn’t wrestled since February 2024. Pretty big moment for him to come back and do that. He was happy to do and there is a ring down in Austin, so I know he’s always rolling around and training there. He didn’t miss a beat."
