Masha Slamovich Talks GCW Championship Win, Says Mike Bailey Tried To Play In Her Element

Masha Slamovich discusses her GCW World Championship win, as well as her recent match with Mike Bailey.

On March 17, 2023, Masha Slamovich shocked the wrestling world and pulled off an upset, as she was able to defeat Nick Gage and win the GCW World Championship. Slamovich's win brought Gage's 160 day reign as the GCW World Champion to an end just weeks before The Collective during WrestleMania weekend.

In a new interview with Fightful, Slamovich reflected on her big win over Gage and said that it was a perfect night for her.

"It’s really a picture perfect movie ending. So many people can dream of these things. I personally could never have even imagined it being that way. I remember so many times, I’m like, ‘Hey, Nick, we should wrestle. I’d love to wrestle you,’ I could have never imagined it would be such a perfect full circle moment in so many ways. Having my mom and dad there, all of my friends were there. AKIRA was there, obviously, coming in for the saves. It was really just the perfect night in wrestling and the fruition of hard years of work and validation of everything I’ve done, really."

On March 19, Slamovich quickly turned around and defended the GCW World Championship against 'Speedball' Mike Bailey in a 20 minute bout. During the match, the ring was ripped apart by Bailey, which allowed Slamovich to bring out her more violent side. Slamovich also noted in the interview that she is going to make sure that every match going forward for her is won by any means necessary.

"By any means necessary would be the answer for this match and every other match going forward. Perhaps even every other match ever, right? I think you guys have seen the kinds of things I get up to out here in GCW. So the finish came about after Speedball decided to play in my element and strip the ring apart and clearly that did not pay off for him."

Slamovich also currently holds the West Coast Pro Wrestling Women's Championship, the AAW Women's Championship, the TTW Championship, the ETU Key To The East Championship, and the CFU Undisputed Championship.
