Maya World has high praise for Athena.
At only 22 years of age, Maya World has already made a big impression on the world of independent wrestling, dominating Texas promotions like Reality Of Wrestling, VIP Wrestling, and Metroplex Wrestling.
World's success has even translated to televised wrestling, as she recently made her AEW Dynamite debut and faced Megan Bayne in a singles match.
While chatting with Fightful for a new interview, World gave props to both Athena and Lou Gotti, noting that Athena has given her a ton of good advice.
"I started training with Athena when I started to break out. She made a really big difference. My coach, Lou Gotti, he’s my OG coach who is really underrated and I wish more people knew about him because he helped....when I got to Athena, she was like, ‘You’re good. You’re already good. I just need to help polish up these things.’ Shoutout to him. Since I’ve been training with her, a lot of my confidence has come from what she tells me. She gives me such good advice and such good TV advice and whenever I’m backstage. It’s no coincidence that as soon as I started with her, a lot of stuff started picking up and a lot of people started noticing who I was. I give a lot of props to her."
