Mike Bailey has no interest in Option C, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want more gold.
Throughout the history of TNA Wrestling, many X-Division Champions have exercised 'Option C', allowing them to trade in their title for a shot at the TNA World Championship. In the past, stars like Josh Alexander, Austin Aries, and Chris Sabin have all successfully captured the World Title after giving up the X-Division belt.
While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Bailey stated that he has no interest in using Option C to get to the TNA World Championship. Instead, Bailey would like to hold both belts at the same time.
“I really don’t. Option C is something that I’m not interested in, for many reasons. I think that to me, the X-Division and that style of wrestling is what I really fell in love with. When I saw the X-Division is when I saw the style of professional wrestling that I really wanted to do and the saw the kind of professional wrestler that I wanted to become. For me, the World Heavyweight Championship is not worth inherently more than the X-Division Championship. But also, I want both. I want to be simultaneously the X-Division Champion and the Heavyweight Champion at the same time. If you can throw being in a tag team champion with Trent Seven as Speedball Mountain in there as well and hold all the belts to myself, I think that would be great. I know that those sound like very unrealistic goals, but there have been many times when I have set very high goals for myself and achieved them. So, my plan in TNA is no different for that.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Bailey talked about defending his X-Division Championship in an Ultimate X match at TNA Emergence. Learn more about those comments here.
