Mina Shirakawa: Facing Mercedes Mone Is My New Dream Match

Mina Shirakawa has another major crossover match in mind.

STARDOM star Mina Shirakawa has competed on AEW programming multiple times in recent months. She will challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. So far, Shirakawa has yet to cross paths with AEW's other reigning women's champion, Mercedes Mone.

Speaking with Righteous Reg and Phil Lindsey on the Grapsody Podcast, Mina Shirakawa commented on her interest in facing AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone.

"I have never wrestled her, but we have known each other for five years. When she came to Japan, we went out together. I want to wrestle with her. She is a superstar and very kind to me. I respect her. I love her. I would like to wrestle her. That is my new dream match," Shirakawa said.

Shirakawa went on to say that she would win the AEW Women's World Championship, and after Mone won the NJPW STRONG Women's Championship, they would fight for three titles.

"I will be the AEW Women’s Champion and Mercedes will be the TBS and New Japan Strong Women’s Champion. In the future, we will fight for three belts," Shirakawa said.

Mone will face NJPW STRONG Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a Title for Title match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

As of this writing, Shirakawa is also the Artist Of Stardom Champion, which is the trios title in STARDOM.

Fightful previously reported that NJPW still had plans and hopes for Mone earlier in 2024, when she officially signed with AEW.

Mercedes Mone recently expressed her intent to wrestle at Arena Mexico.

Fightful will have coverage of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door as it airs on June 30.
