Mina Shirakawa: It Was Very Special To Wrestle In NJPW, I Felt A Big Responsibility Representing STARDOM

Mina Shirakawa reflects on challenging for the IWGP Women's Championship.

Shirakawa got a crack at the belt back in February, as she challenged Mayu Iwatani for the title during night one of NJPW's New Beginning tour. Although she didn't walk away with the title, Shirakawa looked at the match as a big milestone for her career.

While speaking to Fightful's Grapsody for a new interview, Shirakawa noted that the opportunity to wrestle in NJPW was very special to her.

"It was very special. I am a big fan of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. If I had not seen New Japan Pro-Wrestling, I would not have become a pro wrestler. It was a very special match for the IWGP Women’s Title. My dreams came true. It was very special to wrestle in a New Japan ring. I was very nervous. I felt a big responsibility representing (Stardom). It was a very emotional match."
