Nigel McGuinness celebrates a victory over Tony Schiavone in the 2024 Fightful Awards.
Nigel McGuinness was the recipient of the 2024 Fightful Award for Announcer of the Year. In his acceptance speech, which he kept brief, he thanked the voters and took a minute to gloat that he was voted ahead of his AEW Collision broadcast partner, the legendary Tony Schiavone.
Truly, one of the greatest days in the history of our sport.
"A huge thank you to everyone who voted me, Nigel McGuinness, the 2024 Fightful Commentator of the Year. It convinces me that perhaps you think almost as well of me as I do myself. Either way, it certainly clearly proves beyond all shadow of a doubt, that I'm a better announcer than Tony Schiavone. So thank you."
