Samoa Joe has now been removed from WWE's list of Royal Rumble entrants, both internally and on their website.
I tweeted last week that the injury Samoa Joe is facing is worse than WWE initially expected. He's been replaced by The Miz on upcoming live events through March.
Shortly after, WWE removed him from their ongoing list of Royal Rumble entrants, as Fightful Wrestling's Twitter pointed out Monday night. He's also been pulled from all advertising on the show.
Joe was sidelined last week after a victory over Rhyno after suffering a rupture to his plantar fascia. He'll face a recovery time that will include the use of a walking boot and crutches. WWE was initially hoping it was just plantar faciitis after Joe heard a pop in his foot last week. After his match, he took aim at John Cena, but attention on Cena was shifted to Elias on this week's episode of Raw.
WWE Royal Rumble takes place January 28 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of the show, including a live post-show podcast. You can see our updated list of Royal Rumble entrants at this link.
