Starboy Charlies Explains Why He Wrestles In Overalls

Some fans get their first taste of Starboy Charlie on the March 10 episode of AEW Rampage when Charlie teamed with Jack Cartwheel against The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster).

Chris Jericho, who was on commentary for the match, was caught off guard by Charlie wrestling in overalls, but independent wrestling fans have seen Charlie turn in standout performances in his overalls.

Speaking to Fightful's Jeremy Lambert in February, Charlie explained his decision to wrestle in overalls.

"I wear overalls in real life. Not the short short ones that I wear in the ring, but I just wear overalls. It's kind of my style. I wanted to incorporate a little bit more of my personality and who I am outside of the ring to what I'm doing in the ring," he said. "There are a lot of great wrestlers who haven't worn traditional wrestling gear. Jeff Hardy always wore the big gothic cargo pants, those are pretty cool too."

John Cena did pretty well for himself wearing jorts.

Charlie returned to the AEW ring on the March 13 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, teaming with Olumide against Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta).
