Brett Lauderdale details his experience with WWE ID.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported on the WWE ID program, saying that Gabe Sapolsky puts together matches for the wrestlers and provides indie wrestling promotions with a script. Along with that, Metlzer stated that promoters are allowed to advertise that the wrestlers are a part of the ID program. Meltzer finished out the report by stating that WWE provides a stipend to the talent to cover travel costs for various bookings, noting that the promoter will pay the difference if the travel costs are larger than the stipend.
GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale took to social media to respond to the report, sharing that he had a very different experience with WWE ID.
My experience with WWE ID:
— brett lauderdale (@Lauderdale11) March 14, 2025
1. Gabe doesn't put the matches together
2. I've never seen or heard of a script
3. We are "allowed" to push "WWE ID" on talent announcements (but we don't)
4. Not aware of any travel stipend or travel share but that would be cool! https://t.co/1XEcRjyOj9
Lauderdale's experience of the program is only his own and could be/could not be different from other independent wrestling promoters.
