Tara Zep talks her signature tattoos and makeup and how integral they are to her character.
Last month, Tara made her Ring Of Honor debut in a short bout with Anna Jay. She would not have her signature makeup that has become an important part of her character, but as Tara told Fightful, she was prepared for that.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Tara spoke on the importance of her tattoos and makeup to her character.
"It's extremely important to the point where when i was training before I had shows, I knew i would, I only wanted to be wrestling if i could be this specific character that i've thought of for a very long time. It just makes me feel like a different person in a sense. It's a part of me, but it's like a part of me that I can confidently carry when I have my gimmick on. At ROH, I was cool without the makeup. But I didn't feel like myself. I won't lie. I didn't have the confidence that I have. When I do have it on. So I felt like who am I even. Like who am I right now. Like I didn't even know. But yeah. It definitely changes you. Kind of when you see yourself. Even when you're putting it on. You look at yourself before you go out. You just embody like. A different. a different person and, and yeah, it just charges me up. So it is very important. I'm an artist first before I'm an athlee. So here's your work. That is just so important for who I am as a wrestler."
Zep would lose to Anna in her Ring Of Honor debut, but still described it positively elsewhere in her interview with Fightful. You can read more about that here.
