A major star in MLW is finishing up with the company.
Fightful has learned that "Filthy" Tom Lawlor's two-year contract is expiring, from MLW sources. MLW confirmed as much to Fightful and spoke very highly of Lawlor. As of now he's finished with MLW, and the Casket match was a way to effectively write him off of MLW programming. There was still a little bit of time left on Lawlor's deal, but it expires before MLW's next set of television tapings in November.
Fightful asked Lawlor about his contract status on the record during an interview last week after hearing word that the deal was expiring, but he opted not to comment.
Lawlor did tell us in our interview, however, that although he left his gloves in the ring after his last fight, a win, he has not officially retired. He wouldn't rule out fighting again, and noted that he is still under PFL contract if things go that way.
