Tyler Franks is grateful for the NWA.
Throughout 2024, Tyler Franks competed in a number of matches for the NWA, mainly for the company's side promotion in Tennessee, Kross Fire Wrestling.
Franks also ended up wrestling on two episodes of NWA Powerrr, even facing Thom Latimer in a singles contest that aired in January.
While speaking with Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen of Fightful Overbooked's Spotlight podcast for a new interview, Franks said that his match with Latimer changed the trajcetory of his career.
"It’s been tremendous. Very grateful for the NWA. They’ve helped me out greatly. They are the first major company that has given me an opportunity as well, so I’m very grateful for that. My first show with them was the Back to the Territories show representing Krossfire in June, I was in a Scramble match for the Junior Heavyweight Title. I didn’t go back until October, and that’s when things really changed for me. Those went tremendous. I had the opportunity to main event against Thom Latimer for the NWA Championship. That was a match that really changed the trajectory of my career at the time. That was really huge for me. I learned so much. The next two days were their tapings in Tampa, and I went down there had a dark match. From my understanding, everything went really well. The next day, I showed up and found out I was wrestling Thom on Powerrr. First day, dark match. Next day, the champ. Oh shit. To get to wrestle him twice in the same weekend was a huge opportunity and a huge learning experience. From there, I’ve been back to every show they’ve had and I’ll be there for March in Hard Times. Very grateful for them."
Elsewhere in the interview, Franks had high praise for Dr. Tom Prichard's wrestling school. Check out his full comments on the subject by clicking here.
