Vaughn Vertigo recalls wrestling in Denmark and Sweden.
Vertigo is a world traveled independent wrestler, as he has competed in a number of locations in the world aside from his home territory of Canada.
While speaking to Fightful Overbooked's Indied podcast for a new interview, Vertigo was asked to name a few places that he was surprised to find out that they had a popular wrestling scene.
“Oh yeah. Denmark, dude. Denmark and Sweden. Like Denmark, I just did the show in Denmark, it was my third time doing Denmark but this one specifically was like 900 people just drunk and so tall because they have Viking blood. They’re just losing their minds, and it was just like this crowd was insane and I didn’t even know wrestling really existed there. I did Sweden, same thing, it was like a smaller venue with like 400 people and they were so loud the entire time, I was having so much fun. Then there are places like France where apparently the scene is kind of, it kind of took a downward spiral for a little bit, but now with — France specifically, they have these six match cards in front of like 600 people. The setups they have for these stages are incredible, especially BodyZoi, I felt like I was walking into a WCW pay-per-view.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Vertigo discussed the return of Alpha-1 wrestling. Fans can learn more here.
