Obviously having to book on the fly due to the Balor injury, WWE Creative (Vince) didn't at all take advantage of the opportunity to perhaps think outside of the box when constructing Plan B. End result? Same old, same old, match, after match, after match.
RAW JOTTINGS
- Finn Balor is now the third guy seriously injured by the hands of Seth Rollins. I love the passion of Rollins, but you can no longer chalk this up to being a coincidence. How is a guy supposed to control a full-boar power bomb into the boards? How? There is no ability to protect your body. Balor was just as responsible for agreeing to take it. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Again, I am warning all those involved--unless you change the way you work, somebody is going to get seriously hurt.
- Why would you screw the crowd off the top by announcing a new Champion will be crowned NEXT WEEK? Why?
- Wow--Lesnar not interested in becoming WWE Universal Champion. Talk about my "bad booking" all you want. I DARE YOU to make an excuse for this cluster****.
- Let me get this straight--the Taxi Driver doesn't even make the main SummerSlam show last night, but tonight he once again gets an opportunity to become the WWE Champion. Got it.
- How long was Rollins going to be perched on the second rope with his head tucked between his legs before Zayn hit power bomb from the top? I'll tell you---10 FREAKIN' SECONDS! Just freakin' ridiculous. BAD.
- Didn't turn from my desk to my TV once to watch Owens/Neville. Come on, the Braves have a better chance of going to the World Series this year than Neville had of winning.
- Big E vs. Anderson. No stakes = No reason to watch.
- Mr. Backlund Chicken Neck on Titus O'Neil so far best thing on the show.
- Good job giving Cass big win while protecting Rusev.
- I don't think the Owens/Jericho combo is funny---I just don't. I think the writers can give these two talents so much more.
- Charlotte has really come leaps and bounds on the mike. Seeing her grow since the departure if the "Nature Boy" has been one of the highlights of RAW over the past couple of months.
- You can't help but to like Bayley, even if you're not an NXT mark. Casuals will be drawn to her as well.
- No interest whatsoever in Sheamus/Ceasaro. Just no reason to care about it.
- The Strowman squashes were old three weeks ago.
- As stiff as I am on WWE creative at times, I almost always give them the benefit of the doubt. In my opinion, it would be just plain wrong to let the Dudley's end their WWE career courtesy of an ass kicking. I have to believe they'll be back.
- Reigns vs. Jericho. Come on, did CJ have any chance whatsoever of winning this match? Please.
