WWE Tried To Get Megan Thee Stallion For Summerslam Angle

WWE had terrible luck at landing celebrities for Summerslam, at no fault of their own.

As far back as the spring, Fightful learned that WWE had hoped that Cardi B would host or be involved with Summerslam, even using one of her songs as the theme for the show. However, her pregnancy effectively put an end to that, according to WWE sources. PWInsider reported last week that Mike Tyson was contacted to do the Summerslam open, but the deal could not be reached.

In addition to that, Fightful learned that Megan Thee Stallion was also planned for a spot involving Bianca Belair for Summerslam. However, WWE sources indicated they WWE thought it was a done deal, but were informed last weekend it wouldn't be happening. We weren't given a reason why, and we've reached out to Megan Thee Stallion for comment and haven't heard back.
