Good news regarding Steve McMichael.
The family of Steve "Mongo" McMichael updated fans to say that Mongo is responding well to antibiotics and the family hopes to have him home on Tuesday.
McMichael was hospitalized on February 15 with suspected pneumonia. On February 17 fans were informed that McMichael was getting a blood transfusion and had MRSA.

Steve's health is steadily improving, and there's a possibility he may be discharged with IV antibiotics in a few days. Your continued prayers for Steve and his family are appreciated. ----#Bears
McMichael is fighting against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was diagnosed with the disease in January 2021.
McMichael is best known to wrestling fans as a member of the Four Horsemen during his time in WCW and a commentator on WCW Nitro. He is a former WCW United States Champion. He retired from the NFL in 1994 and joined WCW in 1995.
McMichael was announced as one of the 2024 inductees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is set to take place in August 2024.
