Fandango would be a badass, not a dancer if he had his way.
During a time when WWE Superstars didn't have too many gimmicks like they did in the 1980's, Fandango burst onto the scene probably being an evil ballroom dancer. His main roster run in WWE started off hot with a victory over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. Ultimately, Fandango would mostly be a preliminary Superstar before being released on June 25, 2021.
During a virtual signing with the Asylum Wrestling Store, the former NXT Tag Team Champion revealed that he would rather be a cool character like Roman Reigns instead of the dancer gimmick he was saddled with.
"Probably something cool. Kind of like a cool Roman Reigns type of character, or you know, anything where you don't have to dance..."
Fandango also recalled being disappointed by Vince McMahon's teases of having a new direction for his character that amounted to more dancing.
"Yeah. Every time Vince was like, 'I got a new idea for your character.' I'm like, 'Ah, cool. We can stop dancing.' He's like, 'It's a different version of dancing.; I'm like, 'man...'"
Elsewhere in the Q&A session, Fandango spoke about the next few years possibly being the last for his in-ring career. Learn more here.
