Craven was the GM of NJPW as they began to expand to America in 2019, including partnering with ROH to run Madison Square Garden during WrestleMania weekend in 2019.

"His primary objective with RIZIN will be similar to his role and responsibility with New Japan, expanding their international trajectory and diversifying its fan base," wrote Barrasso.

RIZIN was founded in 2015 by former Pride Fighting Championships and Dream Stage Entertainment president Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

The promotion has featured fighters such as Roberto de Souza, Kyoji Horiguchi, Jiří Procházka, King Mo, and more.
