Former WWE Referee Dave Hebner Passes Away At Age 73

Former WWE referee Dave Hebner has passed away at the age of 73.

Hebner was best known as a WWE referee but he was also a referee for the National Wrestling Alliance and an agent with WWE for many years. The twin brother of Earl Hebner, WWE took advantage of the twin referees in February of 1988 on the first-ever Main Event special on NBC.

During the main event championship match between Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, Earl Hebner was revealed to be a crooked referee taking a payoff from Ted DiBiase and pose has his twin brother, Dave, in order to help Andre the Giant defeat Hulk Hogan. In 1987, Dave was also the referee for the Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat match at WrestleMania 3.

In recent years, Dave had many health issues, namely Parkison's Disease, and his passing was confirmed by Slam Wrestling and his nephew, Brian Hebner.
