Gabe Kidd isn’t a fan of Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Kidd is arguably the most outspoken wrestler in all of New Japan Pro Wrestling, but that appears to only be helping his career, as his popularity seems to grow by the day.
Kidd currently holds the key to his own future, as he is set to participate in the G1 Climax 34. The tournament is set to start on July 20.
While speaking to NJPW for a new interview, Kidd went off on NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, criticizing his recent comments about wanting the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship to only be defended in the United States.
“I think that Tanahashi is scared. He’s scared of me. He doesn’t want me terrorizing people on his turf. He doesn’t want me making that title the most interesting one in New Japan. So let me tell you something. F*** Tanahashi. From the bottom of my heart, f*** Hiroshi Tanahashi. I’ll skewer your head on a samurai sword, b*tch. You can keep pushing the narrative of Tsuji, Uemura, Umino, but I’m the future of this company and I’ll cut through every one of them. Now let’s get down to the G1 talk.”
Fightful will have coverage of the G1 Climax as the tournament begins to unfold on July 20.
Kidd recently proclaimed that he could beat Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and Chris Jericho in two minutes. Learn more about those comments here.
