Gabe Kidd lives in the moment.
Gabe Kidd has been with NJPW since 2020, and his career has reached new heights recently, as he beat Eddie Kingston to win the STRONG Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence. Given NJPW's relationship with AEW, Kidd has been linked to the company.
Speaking on WRESTHINGS, Gabe Kidd was asked whether there would ever come a point when he thought that his time in Japan was done, and he would want to go to AEW or WWE.
“Listen, I try to live in the moment. I don’t even try, I live in the moment. Regardless, where I am right now is New Japan. Where I’m gonna be for the time being is New Japan. So for now, it’s fuck AEW and fuck WWE. I don’t give a shit about them two right now. But when they put a fat stack of cash on the table and a nice big contract, then that might change. Then it might be fuck New Japan as well. But until that time, I’m enjoying this ride, I’m enjoying this life, and I’m enjoying the fruits of my hard work and the rewards that I am getting right now for the repercussions of what I’ve been doing, for the amount of hours I’ve put in, 14 years I’ve been doing this now," Kidd said.
Kidd recently teased looking at AEW because AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is coming up. Check out his comments here.
