Gable Steveson: I Want To Go Out There On TV And Be The Person People Thought I Was

Gable Steveson has made a handful of WWE appearances, and gotten physical at WrestleMania 38, but he has yet to compete in an official WWE contest.

Steveson was drafted to WWE Raw in the 2021 WWE Draft. He was signed with WWE in September 2021. In October 2022, Steveson said he was training at the WWE Performance Center after stepping away to undergo an ablation to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

Speaking to KSTP, Steveson provided an update on his in-ring future.

“I want to go out there on tv. I want to be the person people thought I was and I don’t want any doubt in my mind that I’m not. I’m getting the hang of doing everything the correct way – landing right, match psychology, everything in between. I’m flourishing and hopefully they see it, too. I’m excited because people haven’t really seen the real Gable because amateur wrestling kind of shelves a portion because we’re used to guys being disciplined," he said.

The 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling previously noted that he hopes to compete in the 2024 Olympics. He said in the interview with KSTP that he needs approval from WWE to compete.

“They’ve approved the fact that I can chase a couple tournaments,” Steveson said. “I think time will tell the Olympics story. Who knows because it’s a year away but I think we’re in good strides to make that progression.”

It is unknown when Steveson will officially make his in-ring WWE debut.

He appeared alongside Kurt Angle for Angle's birthday bash on the December 9, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown.
