In a clip aired on July 11 episode of WWE NXT, Steveson remarks that his future is still uncertain because while he wants another national title and another run with the Olympics, he also loves being a part of WWE.

"About the future of Gable Steveson, a national title, the Olympics? There's just so much to think about, but I love being here, too. I don't know. There's a lot to think about."

WWE has permitted Steveson to compete in upcoming freestyle competitions. He wants to compete in the Olympics in 2024 but needs WWE clearance. He earned a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Olympics.

It is uncertain when or if Steveson will make his formal WWE debut. After signing in September 2021, he was drafted to WWE Raw in the 2021 WWE Draft. Steveson stated in October 2022 that he was training at the WWE Performance Center after taking a break to have an ablation to address Wolff-Parkinson-White disease.
