Jacobs gives his take as the race comes to an end.
Yesterday it was reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Glenn "Kane" Jacobs is likely to win the Knox County, TN mayoral race. Today, the citizens of Knox County will either choose the Republican candidate Glenn Jacobs or the Democrat candidate Linda Haney. Pro Wrestling Sheet noted that Jacobs earned 14,000 votes during the GOP primaries and Haney earned 4,250 votes and if the same amount of people vote for the same candidate today that they voted for during the GOP primaries, Jacobs is a lock to be the next mayor of Knox County, TN .
While recently appearing on The Hill's 'Rising' with co-hosts Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton, Jacobs explained that the public want something different and that they are over the days of politicians and they want someone who is an outsider so-to-speak to bring different ideas to the table.
“I think the current political environment is very conducive to people who are for lack of a better term are outsiders and haven’t been in politics before.” He continued, “Nationally I believe that’s what we’re seeing as just, folks are sick and tired of politicians and they want something different. They want people that are outside that have new and fresh ideas that… they don’t feel corrupted by the system."
It was reported a few days after WWE's 'Extreme Rules' PPV last month that Kane injured his Achilles prior to the PPV. For more information on that, click here. If you are going to use the quote above, please credit Hill TV's 'Rising' with an H/T to Fightful for the transcription.
