Goldberg Reflects On Who Should Have Ended His WCW Streak

Kevin Nash ending Goldberg's undefeated streak in WCW was one of the more surprising moments in the history of the company. Speaking to Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Goldberg gave his thoughts on who should have ended his streak.

"King Kong. Godzilla. I really don’t know,” Goldberg said. “I was very, very lucky to be in that position. I was a professional football player. I was new in the wrestling business. I was doing what everyone told me to do, asked me to do. I was lucky to be in that spot. I wasn’t a creative guy. I’m an athlete. You lead up and have this streak. Then it’s okay, who is the guy who is going to be you? I think at the time it was the right guy. I’ll be asked that question until the day I die. I’m just lucky to have a streak.”

Many, both at the time and in hindsight, thought Nash wasn't the guy who should have ended the streak. Nash had just taken over as the booker of the company and the follow-up was the infamous Finger Poke of Doom. Following his streak ending, Goldberg never really recovered.

As for one final WWE run, Goldberg recently stated that he would be open to the idea as long as the story is right.
