Gunther successfully defended his WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE SummerSlam by putting away Drew McIntyre.
The finish saw Gunther hit a top rope splash followed by two powerbombs to keep McIntyre down for the three count.
During the hard hitting match, Gunther even managed to kick out of the claymore kick from McIntyre.

This marked the thirteenth successful title defense for Gunther. He won the title on the June 10, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown and is the third longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in history.
