Gunther: Sheamus Is One Of The More Painful Experiences In The WWE Roster

Gunther says wrestling Sheamus is one of the most painful experiences on the WWE roster.

Gunther and Sheamus have met on several occasions in a WWE ring, going back as far as WWE's first iteration of Clash At The Castle in 2022 from Cardiff, Wales. Since then, they have met at WrestleMania 39 and as part of the 2024 King Of The Ring tournament, which 'The Ring General' would go on to win.

Kurt Angle: I'm Glad They Changed WrestleMania To Two Nights, It's Much More Tolerable For Fans To Watch

While speaking to NBC Sports in a new interview, Gunther was asked about Sheamus putting wrestling holds on former soccer players Robbie Mustoe and Gary Neville and if either could make it as a pro wrestler, with Gunther proclaiming Sheamus to be one of the most painful experiences on WWE's roster.

"Oh, gosh. I don't know if they need to, to be honest. I think they're doing quite well. But at least you had a little taste of it, especially with Sheamus. He's one of the more painful experiences in our roster, I would say."

Despite some victories in multi man tag team bouts, as of this writing Sheamus has yet to be able to defeat Gunther in singles action in WWE.

Elsewhere in another interview, Kurt Angle named Gunther as the next talent he sees breaking through on the WWE roster. You can read more about that here.
