Gunther: The Ultimate Warrior Was A Showman, Not An Athlete, Not A Professional Wrestler

Gunther weighs in on The Ultimate Warrior.

Gunther is the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all-time, and has carried the title with much pride. The belt is one of the most prestigious championships in WWE history with the likes of Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and Steve Austin winning the title before going on to win the WW Championship.

Appearing on WWE's The Bump, Gunther was asked about former champions when The Ultimate Warrior came up.

"Those are the real dark ages. He's a showman. He's not an athlete, not a professional wrestler, he's a showman. Now, everybody knows why I have to be the one to keep this title for the longest time in history to wash its reputation clean and set it to a new standard," he said.

The Ultimate Warrior was the man who ended The Honky Tonk Man's longest Intercontinental Title reign.

Elsewhere during his rating of champions, Gunther gave his thoughts on Bret Hart. You can find his comments by clicking here.
