All hail King Gunther.
Gunther defeated Randy Orton in the finals of the 2024 WWE King of the Ring tournament at WWE King and Queen of the Ring to become the latest in a long lineage of WWE Kings of the Ring.
Randy Orton battled through knee and back injuries to hit the RKO on Gunther twice. However, his injuries made it hard for him to capitalize so Gunther ended up pinning Randy with a crucifix pin, even though it clearly looked like one of Randy Orton's shoulders was up off the mat.
Gunther was then given the crown by Triple H. He did not, however, put the crown on his head. Per the stipulations of the tournament, Gunther will challenge the reigning World Champion for the top prize on Monday Night Raw at WWE SummerSlam.
