Gunther says fans haven't seen the last of WWE's European expansion.
Throughout 2024, WWE has held premium live events in France and Germany as the company has continued to expand its global reach. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has somewhat become the face of this movement; he headlined WWE Bash in Berlin, where he beat Randy Orton to retain the title.
Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Gunther teased that there was more to come.
"We’re just getting started. The whole European expansion, it’s not the last of it we’ve seen, I think there’s more to come. I’m excited and I’m happy that I was able to position myself as one of the front runners of representing the company in that respect," Gunther said.
There's currently no word on when WWE may hold another premium live event in Europe, but the company is coming to Manchester for a live event on October 16th. Gunther expressed his excitement about the show and noted that the fans were special.
"I’m excited to see who my opponent is going to be in Manchester. I’m always very excited to come to England, at the end of the day. I’ve had many great moments there, and I think the fans are very special," Gunther said.
JD McDonagh recently commented on WWE potentially holding a premium live event in Ireland. Check out his comments here.
Gunther is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Sami Zayn on the October 7th episode of WWE Raw. More information is available here.
