Heath discusses whether he would potentially return to WWE.
The man once known as Heath Slater had a lengthy run with WWE; he signed a developmental deal with the company in 2006 and moved to the main roster in 2006 as a member of The Nexus alongside Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver, and Darren Young. He also had a memorable run with the Three Man Band with Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, and he later teamed up with Rhyno. During his time with WWE, Heath became a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and he also held the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
WWE released Heath in a wave of cuts in 2020, and he went on to sign with IMPACT Wrestling. Heath later re-signed with the company. Heath and Rhino won the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship on the October 20 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. Though they have since lost the titles, Heath remains a featured member of the roster.
During a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, Heath was asked whether he would potentially return to WWE if the company reached out to him. He initially shot down the idea, but when Mark Sterling, who was also doing the signing, joked that the offer could be a multi-million dollar deal, Heath playfully noted that he'd accept that. When asked whether he would return to WWE for the salary he had when he left, he joked that he'd go back for that before he made it clear that he's having fun right now.
“No, sorry bub... Oh, yeah. I’d go back for [millions of dollars]... . “I’d probably go back for a year or two for [my previous salary]. It was alright. But no, I’m having fun right now," Heath said.
In a previous interview, Heath stated that he had a year left on his contract with IMPACT. Check out his comments here.
Heath will compete at IMPACT Wrestling No Surrender on February 24; he will have the chance to earn a shot at the world title. Check out the card here.
