Ilja Dragunov retained his NXT Championship at NXT Deadline, defeating Baron Corbin in the main event.
A vengeful Dragunov showed no mercy on Corbin, striking him with three H bombs and then closing the show with the torpedo Moscow.
After the bout, Trick Williams came out to confront Dragunov from the top of the aisle. Williams earned a shot at the NXT Championship at NXT New Year's Evil by winning the men's Iron Survivor Challenge. Carmelo Hayes was walking up behind Trick as the show ended.

Back at NXT Halloween Havoc week two, Baron Corbin would stake his claim for the NXT Championship once again when he attacked Ilja Dragunov backstage. Since then, the pair have been trading attacks, with Dragunov sending an unsettling warning to Corbin on the go home NXT show earlier this week. This would be Dragunov's third title defense of his 67 day reign.
