Ilja Dragunov stands for fighting spirit.
WWE Raw picked NXT's Ilja Dragunov in the 2024 WWE Draft, and the former NXT Champion officially joined the red brand on the May 6 episode of WWE Raw. There, he defeated Ricochet to advance to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament.
In a Raw Exclusive, Ilja Dragunov was asked whether his first win as a member of the Raw roster was everything that he thought it would be.
“I think so. I think so because one thing is always for sure for me. I want to fight the best. Ricochet was most certainly one of the best. But I talked about it. I made a promise. Ilja Dragunov pushes things to the next level, and that’s exactly what I did this night. I pushed things to the next level," Dragunov said.
Dragunov was then asked about the crowd giving him a warm welcome, and he stated that it meant the world to him. He noted that he can make people believe everything he does in the ring. Dragunov also stated that he stands for fighting spirit.
“It means the world to me. If there is one thing that I think I can make people do, it’s [that] I make them believe. I make them believe everything I do in this ring. There’s one thing I stand for, and that is something that everyone in this crowd wishes to have, it’s ridiculous fighting spirit," Dragunov said.
