Ilja Dragunov and Gunther are destined to do this forever.
Dragunov and Gunther have produced two classic matches in WWE with the bouts taking place at NXT UK and NXT events.
Gunther is now a dominant force on WWE Raw as the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion while Dragunov has established himself as a top player on NXT.
Dragunov believes they are destined to face at WrestleMania.
"It must be Gunther. It must be him. There is no other choice. This is destiny," Dragunov told Booker T on Hall of Fame when asked who in history he would like to face at WrestleMania. "There is no other match that makes people feel this dimension of emotions that we both can produce, just because we're directly opposites. There is not one person that has taught me more, not one person that has pushed me more, and there is no one person that I can have a better match with on such a high level as WrestleMania. It is impossible because we are the opposites, but we connect and it is something people have never seen before and can reinvent this special thing every time again, especially on a stage like this."
Before Dragunov gets to potentially face Gunther at WrestleMania, he will challenge Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship at NXT No Mercy.
