The IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Champions will be decided with a tournament.
During a backstage segment on tonight's episode of IMPACT Wrestling, it was announced that an eight-team tournament will start in three weeks. The winner of that tournament will be the tag team champions, but the teams competing in the tournament have not been revealed.

At the Bound For Glory 2020 event, Josh Mathews announced that an old staple of TNA Wrestling would be returning to IMPACT Wrestling in 2021. The IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Championships are set to return at the next impact pay-per-view which will be the second hard to kill pay-per-view on January 16, 2021.
The former championships were in existence from 2009 until 2013. The final champions were Eric Young and ODB who held the championship for 478 days. Throughout the four-year existence of the championship, they were also held by the likes of The Beautiful People, Awesome Kong, Taylor Wilde, and WWE Superstar Zelina Vega.
