NJPW will also be in Dallas, Texas that weekend for the start of their annual G1 Climax tournament. NJPW will be running the American Airlines Center on July 6. Furthermore, WWE Raw will be on Dallas on July 1. WWE will also be at the American Airlines Center.
Slammiversary is IMPACT's annual anniversary event. The first Slammiversary took place on June 19, 2005, marking the official anniversary of the promotions first event, which was held on June 19, 2002, back when they ran weekly pay-per-views. Slammiversary had been held in June every year until 2017 when the show was moved to July.
Slammiversary XVII will mark the second time the promotion has held the event in Dallas. Slammiversary 10 in 2012 emanated from College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
