IMPACT issued the following statement to PWInsider:

“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.”

Blanchard has not appeared on IMPACT! during the COVID-19 pandemic as she's been in Mexico with her fiance Daga.

She was scheduled to compete at Slammiversary on July 18, defending the IMPACT World Title against Trey, Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin and Michael Elgin (currently suspended amid sexual misconduct allegations).

Fightful Select reported on June 11, that things haven't been smooth sailing between Blanchard and IMPACT of late. Blanchard was asked to send in promos for the recent set of tapings, but Fightful was told that just didn't happen, and to "not be surprised" if things didn't progress past that. Fightful Select also reported that in reaching out for the story, Blanchard's deal was actually set to expire on June 30.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that IMPACT attempted to get Blanchard to return to drop the title, but when that failed to happen, they chose to terminate her contract and vacate the belt.

Fightful will continue to update fans on the story as more is known.
